RGV FC look to bounce back against LA Galaxy II

The RGV FC Toros look to edge out LA Galaxy II at H-E-B Park later this evening after the two squads played to a thrilling 4-4 draw on April 24 in Carson, Calif.

The Toros’ five-game unbeaten streak came to an end last Friday after RGV fell to Phoenix Rising FC 3-1 in Arizona. Maalique Foster scored his second goal of the season last Friday and looks to add to his tally prior to the international window at the end of the month. The Toros will look to Foster, Jesus Enriquez, Michael Salazar and Carlos Small to power an offense that scored 13 goals in five matches last month.

Defensively, RGV can expect reinforcement later this evening as Dynamo defenders Chris Duvall, Sam Junqua and Erik McCue join the Toros on loan for the match.

The Galaxy visit H-E-B Park after they were held scoreless by Fresno FC last Sunday at home. The Galaxy fell 3-0 to Fresno and enter tonight’s game with only one victory in their last five outings. Los Dos will look to Kai Moreniuk and Geoffrey Acheampong to spark an offense that has only scored one goal in their last three games.

The last meeting between both clubs featured six goals in the final 15 minutes. The Toros trailed 2-0 going into the 75th minute until Salazar scored a brace in a two-minute span.  Small followed with a go-ahead goal after he cleaned up a shot from Enriquez that deflected off both the crossbar. Salazar finished with a hat trick after a lunging effort to capitalize on a cross from Enriquez to defender Conor Donovan inside the box.

The match will be streamed live on ESPN + beginning at 7:30 p.m.
