Houston Dynamo forward Alberth Elis was named to the Audi MLS Team of the Week and teammate Christian Ramirez was named to the bench, the league announced earlier today.
Elis contributed to all four of Houston’s goals in a 4-2 win over the LA Galaxy at BBVA Stadium on Decision Day. The Honduran’s strike in the 62nd minute drew Houston level with the LA Galaxy on Sunday as the Honduran international tallied his ninth goal of the season. Elis would follow up with a game-winning assist on Ramirez’s goal in the 83rd minute and tallied his 10th assist of the season in stoppage time as Memo Rodriguez cemented Houston’s victory over the Galaxy at BBVA Stadium.
This is Elis’ fourth appearance on the Audi MLS Team of the Week this season.
Ramirez’s game-winning goal on Sunday was his fifth tally of the season for Houston. The California native also equalized for Houston late in first half stoppage time after he capitalized on a rebound off Elis’ effort at the far post. Ramirez finished with five goals and one assist in 672 minutes for the Dynamo this season.
The forward joined the club at the end of the second transfer window on Aug. 7 and this is his second individual honor with the club.
