Inaugural Ford All-Star Game held at Houston Sports Park

Ford All Star Game

The U-15 Houston Dynamo Academy team defeated the U-15 Dynamo Dash Youth (DDY) 2-1 in the second annual Ford All-Star Game on Jan. 29 at Houston Sports Park.

The All-Star Game included a $5,000 scholarship to the Most Valuable Player, which was awarded to Franklin Hernandez from Dynamo Dash Youth.

The Dynamo Academy controlled possession at the start of the first half and an early strike from Yousuf Saeed gave the local side the lead in the 13th minute.  That lead wouldn’t last too long as DDY tied it up off a free kick in the 21st minute.

The second half started off much like the first with the Dynamo controlling the possession. Zac Bowie notched the second goal of the game in the 49th minute off a penalty kick. Joseph Farouz won the spot kick after he dribbled inside the box and a DDY defender fouled the attacker inside the box.

The Dynamo Academy was able to hold the lead by breaking down DDY’s compact approach and threatening with counter attacks in the final minutes of the game.

The U-15 Dynamo Academy squad return to action on Feb. 14 at Houston Sports Park as the club hosts the Generation Adidas Cup. The U-15 Dynamo squad will face Vancouver, LAFC and FC Dallas and a full schedule of all Dynamo Academy matches can be found here.
