Three first half goals from Portland Thorns FC gave the Washington Spirit their first loss of the 2016 season last weekend. Their road trip continues as they visit BBVA Compass Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Friday for the final regular season meeting between both clubs.

Washington is led by Canadian National Team midfielder Diana Matheson and goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé. Matheson has three goals in six appearances and is tied with teammate Joanna Lohman and four other players for the most goals in the league. Labbé has four clean sheets in six starts and is tied with Alyssa Naeher from the Chicago Red Stars for the most shutouts in the league. The Spirit are missing U.S. Women’s National Team players Crystal Dunn and Ali Krieger, who reported to camp for upcoming friendlies against Japan.

In addition to the allocated players, Lohman is a player to watch after she scored her third goal of the season last weekend. She set a new personal best with that goal after scoring twice for the Boston Breakers in 2013. One of Lohman’s goals this season came in the last meeting between Houston and Washington on May 14. The midfielder’s game-winning goal came in the 38th minute from a Christine Nairn cross.

Washington leads the all-time series with a record of 5-1-1 and has won the last three games. The Dash picked up their only win of the series last season in Houston’s home opener, a match that finished 2-0.

After the match, join us for a Movie on the Pitch featuring Alvin and the Chipmunks presented by Discovery Green. The first 250 fans to check in at the Dash Sales Table (on the concourse outside Section 118) following the game can enjoy watching from the field.
