Road result gives Dynamo a boost in MLSsoccer.com Power Rankings

After picking up their first point away from home this season, the Houston Dynamo got a small bump in the weekly MLSsoccer.com Power Rankings.

The Dynamo fell to No. 11 after a pair of road losses, but ended a three-game road swing with a scoreless draw against archrivals FC Dallas on Sunday to move up a couple of spots to No. 9. Here's what the rankers had to say after the result:

In recent seasons, the Dynamo would have been expected to roll over when facing mighty FC Dallas. Not so this past weekend, when they held one of the best teams in the West to a 0-0 draw. Whoa, Dynamo.

We're not sure what they mean by "roll over" after the Dynamo claimed El Capitán for winning the regular season series against FC Dallas, despite them having their best season ever and Houston having their worst, but the fact remains that it was an important showing for this group of players and coaches to pull together a complete performance to come away with a result and stay tied for second in the Western Conference.

The Dynamo have a busy week ahead of them, as they aim to stay undefeated at BBVA Compass Stadium with a midweek match against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night (7:30 p.m. CT | TICKETS) and then another road test in Seattle against Sounders FC on Sunday (9 p.m. CT | KUBE 57).
